The San Francisco VA supports a
variety of Residency and Fellowship positions and is partnered
with the University of California, San Francisco, offering top
notch training in all surgical specialties and
subspecialties.
Not only does the VA offer top training in surgery, it also
boasts an affiliation to the largest non-profit research
institute out of the 86 associated with the Department of Veterans
Affairs across the country. NCIRE, the
Northern California Institute for Research and Education, is self
funded and allows many of the surgeons a chance to conduct and
participate in research with the goals of improving health and
healthcare for our veteran population, active military personnel
and the nation overall.
